This is the first one of these Jams that I've participated in. I went to her site and found this one of her in a Leia outfit. I might try more, since she has plenty of material on her site.

vhpayes- Unlike the caricature jams where you can use whatever reference of the subject you want, in these jams you can only use the photos provided. Great drawing though.

That innately makes sense, if this is a game of sorts, but is that posted anywhere in an FAQ or sticky?
I couldn't find it, and I looked around a bit .
I'm not even sure if posting new entries to old jams, something I've been doing, is OK. They're not closed but...

Nice drawing, BTW vh!

While there are no officials 'rules', the point is for everyone to do their own takes from the reference provided. It's not a contest, just a place for people to share their art, so I usually let things slide. Generally though, it's a good idea to stick to the images provided. Everyone is more than welcome to post to any jam they want, I just don't want any of the threads losing focus. :) I suppose it wouldn't hurt to post a FAQ.

Great drawing though, vhpayes. I almost posted a slave leia pic.

I got that part; my concern is less about winning and more that I don't spend the time to do something, only to find out that I didn't follow some rule.

Thanks for the skinny! :)

Basically - Caricature Jams are about the person; Drawing Jams are about the poses.

Yeah, no worries, Jim. Things are pretty casual here. I almost always let it slide if someone posts a drawing of the subject from another photo. Where I draw the line is people posting more reference images or posting a drawing that has nothing to do with the reference or the model. But typically, I just encourage everyone to get creative with the pose or the model. :)

Your drawing made my morning man. Great job.

Realistic bodies don't seem to flow from my figertips onto the paper very well. Perhaps I'll figure out how to stop fighting it and just let out whatever is in there. ( I have no clue what that is by the way ) For now, here is my best shot.

Pffft, whatever dude, your drawing is great. Realism isn't the point anyway, but your style shines right through this one. And it's fairly along the realism (vs. caricature anyway) path.
Good job.

vhpayes : thanks for letting me know there's an Olivia Munn pic out there in Leia garb. Gonna go look right now!

derfblue, if that's a quick warm up, I can't wait to see what you taking your time looks like.

dcmcgrath, you are very kind. thanks for the encouragement man. I guess what I meant was that I am still looking for my "style".

I had never in my life heard of this woman before but after that princess lea drawing... wow! what a website. anyway. great topic. can't wait to see what everyone posts on here.
