This month's jam is of young Hollywood blonde bombshell, Scarlett Johansson. Actress and singer (chuckle), Scarlett has starred in such movies as Ghost World, Lost in Translation and Girl with a Pearl Earring.

She has an interesting face for caricature and since she's popular with most male folk (personally I find her a bit odd looking) there's no shortage of photos to be found on the internet. If you're lucky you may even find a few with her face as the focal point.Wink

Here are some links and photos to get you started-

Have fun!

great choice for this month Chris, a very good face for caricature. I'd like to do a more finished piece for this, but for now just a quick scribble.

Greatest choice ever! It's like you knew exactly what I was thinking.
1 week ago I started colecting pictures of Scarlet Johansen because I was thinking of making a caricature out of her. I never got the time to start it properly (and she was the only celebrity I chose too!), so thanks for choosing her as a subject! I might finish it then
nice start here guys:D

A quick painting before I go to bed. Most likley gonna edit the heck out of this one for a couple of days before I find the likeness. I'm always looking my self blind on the faces I draw the first day. Crits and commments always welcome

To say she's pretty is putting it mildly.......

I really like pretty much all of them posted so far.Great thread.

I'll agree that she's not exactly "normal" looking but I think that's what I dig about her. I am having trouble capturing the likeness with this one but would like to try again. I am open to critiques anyone may have.

some comments,

denis- i like this sketch, but i'm not seeing her much here. i think all the individual parts are there, for some reason they're not coming together as scarlett for me.

comlok- great work already, the only issue i have with it is the upper lip, which i see as more broad than tall, puffy certainly, but not very tall. also, i think she deserves a bit more jaw.

coogy- hmm, i'm getting rhianna. idk, maybe it' the hair. i think your style may be too angular for her face. the one likeness issue that's throwing me off is the eyes, way too big imo.

oakhorse- great likeness! now just push it further.

viva- ooh, striking. i like it. i think she could be a bit more cheeky, and her nose is a bit more bulbous at the end. and the her neck seems overly large.

and, another sketch from me. this i'll probably take to a finished piece later on, i'm pretty happy with it now. any c+c would help, i usually mess up the general structure in these initial sketches, so feel free to call me out on it.

Hey everyone! Wow this jam is really inspiring. Here is my approach. Her hair is really amazing (at least on the picture I’m using) I might work a little bit more on it. I think her body needs more work too, it doesn’t look natural...?

This is one of the earliest caricatures I ever did - I'll try and do another one as quite frankly I'll take any chance to stare at her for a couple of hours I can get Smile

Some great stuff in this thread already Smile

Carlos, that's beautiful!! Very nicely done!!

Bangalore Monkey, thanks for the feedback. I have to say, I can't see where you're getting Rihanna from but I do agree that I need to make the countours of her face more smooth.
