With Iceland recently on the verge of bankruptcy, their krona worthless and their banks taken over by the government, let us turn to probably the only thing left that holds any export value for Iceland- the eccentric musician, Björk.

Björk's elfin features are as unusual as her distinct vocals and music. She should be interesting to draw. Have fun!

Fantastic caricature Hanzz. Great idea for a new thread. Have to get my scanner fixed so I can join in. I think Don Pinsent did one at one stage aswell, I remember seeing one of her on his site, or blog.

hanzz; excellent rendering

have to admit that i was glad when they hung her in dancer in the dark (maybe the only one)-can`t stand her singing for a long time, but she`s definetely a terrific talent and a sort of an acoustic alien

first shot (i`ll hate it tomorrow, i know-so it is a wip)

a little bit refined, but still off (the second one is the old one)

hanzz - Sorry, but I don't see her in there at all. I'd have guessed Debi Mazar.

warhole - That's fantastic. Spot on already.

Here's my first sketch

Great idea for a jam Chris! I am going flat out with work at moment… but I’d love to join in soon.

Hanzz- I knew right away who she was, but after looking at some reference of her I wonder if it’s her face I picked or the feathers and things that ‘clued’ me to her eccentrics and I made the connection from there. I always wonder about that, when objects closely associated with someone are included with the subject. Great image anyway.

Warhole- I see her there, maybe a little too strong on the chin? I love the atmosphere of the drawing.

Euan- Nice! That’s her all right. Like the way her mouth and cheekbones form a line that sort of cuts off her lower jaw. Love to see what you do with the colour.

William- These are great. I can see her in the righthand one for sure.

Vhpayes- That’s Bjork. Nicely subtle but definitely her.

Deadline be damned! Could not resist...here's a very quick one.

I might hate it in a couple of hours.

hanzz- like em, i'm not seeing bjork there. great rendering, but i think you've missed the eye shape, the turned up nose and the thick eyebrows.

tomgalvin-- nope, wasn't mine. i've never caricatured her. but im definitely jumping in on this jam soon!

warhole-- awrsome. i'm always impressed when an artist can capture a likeness so brilliantly with such minimal strokes.

em-- so far, so good. solid likeness, aptly chosen exaggerations. looking forward to the finished work.

monkey-- i can see her in there, but i think this time you may be in danger of being so abstract as to force the viewer to search for the likeness, rather than spotting it as soon as they look. if that was what you were going for, good job. if not, i think you need to keep at it.

vhpayes-- very good. instantly recognizable, and i like the simple rendering.

maritze-- love it! i don't think it needs any further work at ll, personally.

nickjarvis-- like tasek said, the lips and eyes seem right, but, like hanzz, i think you've missed the shape of the nose.

great work so far, guys, and i think she's a great choice for a caricature jam, chris. looking forward to jumping in.
