i was gonna say, a caricature of Hellboy, what. (red right hand, get it, haha)

no, seriously, i dont know who this is but the style is great, seems like more of a portraiture though.

"They're whispering his name through this disappearing land
But hidden in his coat is a red right hand."

BIG Nick Cave fan.

Nice work. That new mo he's sporting at the moment is pretty hilarious.

You made him a bit too handsome, but I can still see the likeness.

That's him! Got a bit of a William Stout vibe going.

bangalore_monkey- Yeah you're right, I might push for a more caricature driven one next-cheers.

krisvahl- I think with the receding hair, has come the mo...He's a great storyteller though-& thanks, I'd agree with you-next one I'll 'uglify' him a bit more Wink

HellBoyOne- Cheers!

Great style. And as I happened to be listening to Henry Lee as I opened your post I think God is saying I have to post a reply.

Oyterboys recent Nick Cave post reminded me how I've been drawing the man recently too again-I'm hoping these sketches will help me build the courage to attack him in oils on canvas. Better sooner than later!

to be honest, i've heard of nick cave before, but never listened to him. (except the title made me think of the song in Dumb and Dumber...when jim carrey's wallet got stuck in the newspaper stand...is that the same song?)

really nice drawings though Smile

Yeah Joe, that's the same song (always thought that was an odd choice of song for that scene)

Great pics Toonlion. We should start up a Nick Cave drawing jam.

Thanks Joe!

And absolutely-cool idea Chris. Should I rename this thread or just start up another? I'd love to see other's take on him.

I'd be up for a Nick Cave drawing Jam, sounds great.

Love these portraits by the way Erin, although i actually think the strongest is the pencil sketch.
