No words to say. Worked on this as soon as I heard this morning.
Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad
*EDIT* I agree. This should be a tribute thread. If anyone else would like to pay tribute to a master please do so here. Thank you.

It is so heartening to see the entries so far. I hope he knew how many people he inspired.

First of 3 pieces I plan on for this tribute to Mike. I want my version of his characters to be just as optimistic and bright as they, and he, have always been. My tribute won't be reflecting so much as it is looking forward with his memory fresh in our minds.

Jarek and Serra to follow.

M!

The comics industry has lost a great artist and a great human being. I'm so glad I discovered Mike's artwork early enough to appreciate it.
Rest in peace Ringo and may your sketches entertain the angels as much as they have your Earthbound fans.

Mike was kind enough to allow me to colour a Wonder Woman sketch of his a while back:

I'll do something new soon.

I just read on his site this morning. I can't believe it. Mike's been one of the artists that I followed closely since returning to art. He has been the first blog of my daily blog stroll for some time now. His website showed a side that most artists (people for that matter) are never brave enough to show. And he put his opinions, fears, doubts right out there next to his incredible talent every day.

My deepest condolences go out to his family. Comfort lies in the fact that he is in a better place now.

Rest in Peace Mike, I wish I had gotten the chance to meet you.

Ian

Only last week I was thinking about inking one of Mike's drawings. I enjoy inking other people's work and I was looking forward to having a go at Mike's elegant pencils.

Little did I know that it would become a tribute to this talented artist.

Pencils by the master, inks by me. Such a pleasure to ink. Thanks MIke.

This is a drawing Mike did when we were discussing him being the charcater designer for the Stan Lee presents' Ringo. I thought it was appropriate that Ringo would be the designer for Ringo....if it had actually gone into production as planned it would've happened and it would've been fun!

quite a loss --- he was a mensch!

I asked him once if he minded if I inked a couple of his blog pieces and he kindly said to go for it.

I sent him a copy and he wrote back saying: "You did an amazing job in this. Do you think you could send me a high-rez file of this...? I'd love to have one for my files "
I was thrilled beyond belief. I wish I'd gotten a chance to get to know him better but I am richer from the encouragement and kind words he gave me.
