I prefer models with more curves than these boyish figures but I figured why not. Skinny models are not as much fun to draw and more rotund ones.
This is the initial pencil treatment. I'll work on it then ink and color it. then submit the final sketch for C&C.
Will there be more male nude models in the future? I have lots of female nudes in my various sketchbooks but no male nudes. I'm not looking for overly perfect muscular types but interestng models with cures, rolls, wrinkles to practice shading techniques. Are there any sites with that?

rob_garr: nice study -- what size is that painted at? the tones in the leaves are superb.
sully:welcome and glad lurk no longer. its good -- simple lines, the shapes feel correct -- it's a good start.
nice rob: i line the line variation in this -- feels a little looser than the last couple i've seen by you. plum colours are nice!
bironel: good start -- have you purposely made changes to the tensions in the neck and face? be interested to see your inked and coloured versions.
sorry about this -- just got back from a Narnia screening:

Nice references, Adam!
Visual Myriad - great colors in that piece. I really love the way you added greens to the skin-tones, it adds a lot of atmosphere.

| Visual Myriad- thanks, it was painted on an A3 pad. Your painting's amazing, the colours and textures work really well.

Beautiful photos...and some really nice work showing up already in this thread. Here's my contribution--
Argh, looking at it now, I'm thinking the head's too big.
I'm really liking the color pieces others have done...might try adding color to this one, or give one of the other photos a try.
