Frogze: I keep talking about doing a sketchbook but never seem to get around to it. I'm planning on freeing up my schedule to work on some personal projects in 2012- and my sketchbook is definitely on that list. I even sketched the cover and have a pretty good idea of the format. I might use the title of this thread, too. And I DO have more War of the Worlds stuff planned, mostly in cards, but there might be a comic. I recently had an for it that I'd REALLY like to pursue, either in comics or cards.

apoormanshero: Thanks so much, I"m glad you're digging the stuff I've posted. I add new stuff all the time so , please check back.

Speaking of new art, here's some now:

Who likes stuff? Because I have a metric ton of stuff to post. Enjoy... or hate it. It's up to you. I can't control your emotional reaction to external stimuli. Not until I construct... the device. What? Oh, nothing, never mind. It's not important... for now.

Anyway, like I said, STUFF!

This is a piece that I reworked to be a vintage paperback style cover. This wasn't meant to be a thing, but how can I not make it a thing? It should totally be a thing:

"The veil between the worlds parts, and out strolls the PHD of the Paranormal: Professor Hollow, Deadtective!" Yeah... I've pretty much got to make this a thing.

I made an attempt at inking this Kevin Nowlan Hellboy piece, just for fun. I rarely ink others, even though I love to. Inking is my favorite part of the process so I'd love to do it more often.

Here's a quick, faux vintage, paperback cover in honor of Valentines Day (although, I was late in posting it here).

Thanks, glad you enjoyed it.

Here's an Eighth Doctor piece I drew for Charlie Kirchoff's coloring demo at the GallifreyOne convention last weekend. Unfortunately, I've never been to Gally. Every year it rolls around and I kick myself for not making arrangements earlier. Oh well, I was at least there in spirit thanks to this piece and the giant, poster-size Seventh Doctor #1 cover that hung above the IDW Publishing table.

The brilliance of this stuff hardly needs mentioning, but it is brilliant. I was wondering though, is your stuff digital, traditional, or a mix? Sorry if that's been asked, I didn't see it anywhere. Please keep posting more.
They say you should never hit a man with a closed fist, but it is, on occasion, hilarious.

Re: Hot Sketch on Sketch Action-LORD OF THE JUNGLE

Postby Hack » Sun Apr 29, 2012 12:17 am

SeraphSword: That is so nice to hear and very much appreciated, thank you. It's all traditional. Well, except for the fonts and a bit of color/brightness/contrast tweaking (which is minor and usually just trying to get the scan to look more like the original.) But yeah, what you see is what was on the original paper.

Thanks again,

Here's something new, a cover sample for my portfolio of Dynamite comics' Lord of the Jungle. Drawn in the style of a vintage movie/serial poster.
