yeah, i suppose he is rather rodent-ish. captured that at least

so. planned to finish this today, but didn't want to get burned out. once again went into the final painting process with reservations about some of the features, so i got caught up fussing with her eyes for a while.

slick colors and very dramatic lighting... I see what your saying about the eyes...
They're tricky, but I really think the change to the eyebrows is helping the likeness.

Keep on keepin' on..

again, thanks for the input Pedro.

tonight we have one of those faces with whom i feel i haven't quite settled the score, Natalie Portman. Never was satisfied with my star wars painting of her i did a couple years back. I've had a couple other false starts with her face over the years but never committed to any of them. just a quick tonal sketch, but i would actually like to do a final piece.

ok, little break. back to it.

watched the ridiculously long directors cut of "kingdom of Heaven" this weekend. so, guess what i decided to draw. Neeson was simple as always, but i found Bloom a little trickier than i expected.

Bloom as In Orlando Bloom? Yeah, sorry, not seeing it. Good Neeson, though. And it looks like you're getting a good start on Natalie Portman there. Why is she such a hard one for caricaturists to get right? I've still never tried her.

haha, yeah. that was one of my occasional complete misses. he was just really tricky. i can see him a little in there, but when i went back into it i lost him again. happens sometimes.

here's another rather interesting face. Florence Welch of 'Florence + The Machine'. she can look pretty, but often appears rather fugly. didn't get too mean with this one. perhaps i'll do another not so nice.

this was more an experiment in a new sketching technique.

grrr, I really wish i could make more time for this. been way too busy with school work this past week. anyway,

here's a quick one of French actor Alain Delon, From 'Le Samourai, your standard minimalist assassin film, from '67.

i like this one more as a piece or art than a caricature.
