WonderCon Cosplay

Postby yeticatcher » Mon Apr 04, 2011 8:33 am

I'd say these two were most gorgeous of the cosplay girls at WonderCon SF this year. At least on Saturday when I was there cheering on my Maverix Studios friends that were exhibiting.

Based on a couple of photos I took - pencil and a little photoshop:

Let's see the photos! :)

The first girl is gorgeous. I love how you rendered her lips!

Cool. Now I'm even more impressed! I like the slight tilt of the head you added. Very lovely rendering!

Man, this is some of your strongest work! I love how you render the hair, with each strand serving a purpose and not just being "hair."

I wouldn't have the patience (or skill).

Thanks again bentan! :D

doh: always so kind with your comments. I do pay as close attention to the hair as possible. It is part of their character and often frames the face a certain way, whether it's a wig or their natural locks, it's important to the overall aspect. Perhaps I'm getting too philosophical.

le-mec: Better than the photo? I dunno, she was really a babe. Maybe the photo didn't do her justice! 8)

Some amazing pencil work!

Both are great and the likeness of the first one is very well done.

The second drawing is good on its own. The likeness could be improved. There's something about the chin which is different from the real one, making the likeness less.

Charles, thank you my friend!

DantheMan, I know what you mean about the chin. She has such captivating eyes that I paid more attention to those than her overall likeness. Thanks for the good crit though and the kind comment.
