The Dread Pirate Fuzz

The Dread Pirate Fuzz

Painted from reference, in Photoshop, with a Wacom. Entirely on one layer, similar to how I would approach painting traditionally on a real canvas.
8 hours - using the grid method.

Here's a link to my blog for the close-up:

Lovely work, Claudia. I especially enjoyed your "Time Warp" pic. :)

A tip: the vanishing points in any two-point perspective should be on opposite sides of the viewer. In ?The Kinnaree's Love" and in "Grown-up Now!," the right-side vanishing point (for the floorboards) should be located off to our right, outside of the image, to avoid giving the floorplane a slanted look.

Kira and Tom - Digital Watercolor Painting

Postby claudiasutton » Tue Mar 15, 2011 6:30 pm

Tom and Kira

This is a redo of a piece that I created back in 2005. Perhaps you remember them? :3 I loved these characters so much and wanted to develop them more. I never felt the original captured them the way that I wanted. That, and I was eager to try a new digital watercolor technique out. I found this a bit frustrating, because learning new things typically is. I actually had to spend way more time than I originally thought it needed for coloring.

Here's a link to my blog for the drawing, close-ups and color swatches:
