Z-GIRL Pin Up Gallery-Updated NYCC recap!

Postby Batmankm » Mon May 24, 2010 12:02 pm

Z-Girl and The 4 Tigers is a comic concept i am developing with a friend and talented writer named Jeff Marsick. We are in the process of putting together a Preview book for the October New York Comic Con.

A number of fellow Drawing board members are generously contributing pin ups to this start up effort. And i couldn't be more appreciative and thank full. So I thought it would be cool to post them as they come in here at the board and share them with the community.

If you want to learn more about Z-Girl or her Tigers we have an art blog up HERE. And a web site that right now only has a holding image up HERE.. But that will be updated soon.

So Im starting off with a pin up I just finished that will accompany a Z-Girl short story that will be published in AccentUK Comics PREDATORS anthology due out this fall, as well as will be in the Preview book at NYCC.

Thanks again to everyone's support on this project. And feel free to jump into this thread at anytime and post up your own take on Z or her Tigers. :D

Monkey Marc is an exceptionally talented artist here at the board. His femme fatales are gorgeous not to mention classic. If you haven't taken a second to flip through his ongoing thread than i think you have missed a peek at a future star. Check it out:

Its chock full of swashbuckling sword and sorcery, superheroes, dramatic B&W inks and expressive and rich paintings. He is a multi talented artist that just keeps getting better.

Sarryn's interpretation of Z-Girl follows and its fantastic. She looks like she is ready to kick some ass!! Thanks Dave!! :D

Scott Barnett is a great friend and a talented painter. Many of his sketch card illustrations have been posted here at the board. Scott has created a very cool realistic looking take on Z-Girl. Love the Department Of Irregular Warfare's logo in the background too, nice touch.

Thanks Scott!!

TheOtherMike does incredible work here at the board. His line work is phenomenal and his detail breathtaking. Mike has taken those skills and created a wild, imaginative, spectacular interpretation of Z-Girl. In fact i told him I want to incorporate many of the little details he so effectively included into the character design. Bullet holes and stitches, an iPod on her belt, a more elaborate chin strap. Just beautiful Mike.

Thanks dude this just completely rocks the house!!!! :P

      I guess that would make my Zombie hero book a plate of sauteed brains in red butter sauce.

Ok a lot has been happening. The book has been printed and is shipping as i type this. Should have copies early this week . WWOOOOT! I have posted the cover below. Let me know your thoughts.

Because of all the craziness getting the final work done on the book and all the booth graphics i neglected to post the final Pin Up I got in. So here is an amazing Z-Girl original by the one and only Hellboy One, our very own Rick Cortes!!! Its awesome and filled with lots of great Zombie brains and action. Great contribution Rick this ROCKS!!! Thanks so much.

And thanks to everyone that contributed and those that wanted to but weren't able to this time. These wonderful additions to our book have really helped define the character and add a level of professionalism to the final product. I cant thank you all enough for your generosity. Hopefully there will be a book #1 to follow ( this premier book is numbered #0 ) and plenty of room for more pin ups. :D

Kirk the cover looks great - a strong dynamic image/design and terrific colouring, I'm really looking forward to seeing the book in the flesh!

Great work on the pin-ups folks, it's very cool to be amongst such august company :)
