Question for comic artists!

Are comics still created with pencils and inks or have those tools been replaced by computers the way computers replaced color inks?

They are still being done with pencils, paper and ink--and will for some time yet.

Thanks Arrow. I did some penciling in the early 90s for a few small companies but stopped to pursue sculpting work and after seeing the computer tools like the Wacom Cintiq...I figured all the "pros" and larger companies like Marvel and DC dumped pencils for the software side.

Despite what Wacom claim, the Cintique experience feels nothing like traditional drawing, I own one and it works but you are still dragging around a cursor with a pen shaped mouse, as always the artist has to adapt to the tech not the other way round. For as long as that is the case I'm guessing pencil and paper will be used.

Most pros are still working traditionally, with some exceptions. However, most webcomics artists work digital exclusively.
They say you should never hit a man with a closed fist, but it is, on occasion, hilarious.

All my pencils and inks are done by hand... then scanned in. I've fooled with tablets... and I don't care for them.
