Scott Pilgrim Vs. the World trailer!

Postby drugmassacre » Fri Mar 26, 2010 12:10 pm

I'm surprised this isn't being discussed here yet!

Edgar Wright's adaptation of Bryan Lee O'Malley's comic book series.

It looks utterly ridiculous and outrageously fun.

if you actually pull up the youtube page you can watch it in HD

The most exciting thing is 'new Edgar Wright' movie but everything else looks great, too.

I'm just worried about whether Michael Cera can play anyone but Michael Cera. The guy he plays in every other movie he's done isn't much like Scott Pilgrim.
They say you should never hit a man with a closed fist, but it is, on occasion, hilarious.

It's very Shaolin Soccer, which is good.

i fucking loved every single second of it. It's impossible to put into words how fun and entertaining this movie is. Brandon Routh's sequence was especially enjoyable.

It's the most entertaining movie made by Americans in years. It's fucking awesome.

Directed by an Englishman though- Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz)

Looking forward to seeing this.

Funded by Americans and filmed by an Englishman in Canada. I think this is probably 95% of why it's so awesome.*

Although I enjoyed every motherlovin' minute of it, I still think it owes a great debt to Stephen Chow's Shaolin Soccer and Kung Fu Hustle and I'm surprised it's not really mentioned in any reviews I've read.

They mentioned it at the Onion A.V. Club podcast, Rick. I completely agree with you, by the way... Kung Fu Hustle is one of my all-time favorite movies and it's great to see an American film try out that aesthetic (with fantastic results).

I think I've managed to rope my sister into going to Scott Pilgrim tomorrow night. +1,000 points!

I shall listen to this podcast you speak of.

EDIT: The guy talking doesn't get it and I want to fight him.
