Everything John Lasseter says in that clip almost sounds like he's being sarcastic...

"There's this... amazing... character named Prince Naveen"
"I'm so... proud... of The Princess and the Frog..."
"It's got a... jazz playing alligator"
"A... cajun... firefly"
"There's a... fairy godmother character..."
"This movie... has everything in it."

That's exactly what I thought at first but then i remembered the clip of miyazaki visiting him in the studio. He's playing it up just that he's not that great at doing it, should hear the commentary on sleeping beauty/blu ray he's not a motivational speaker. Should be a fun movie, not a milestone movie but a fun movie you guys are really focusing on nitpicking again.

The frog squishing and spittly snake kiss really gross me out.

that trailer is the best thing I have seen from this project yet. It looked perfectly fine.
I retain massive doubts but cannot knock that trailer one bit

I agree with the defense of John Lasseter, he just sounds that way

I've got nothing against Lasseter or the movie, I just thought it was funny how his list of "impressive things about the movie" (that aren't really all that impressive) combined with his natural speech rhythms to have the opposite effect of what's intended. Guess I'm the only one who sees it that way...

Easily the best part was Dr. facilier, has a cool message for the kiddies in the end.

It was a nice enough film despite plotholes as big as the Grand Canyon. My 15 year old daughter (who ironically dislikes most animation) liked it more than she expected.

:? well.....i disliked every minute of it because of the very mediocre animation,
except for Dr Facilier, which was fantastic.
Other than that, i kept having to remind myself what the characters were meant to do
and to what goal.
The songs were annoying, except the very first "Almost there" one, for it's graphic bold choices.
I couldn't believe that NOT ONE SINGLE headshake on that main character was technically right nor controlled.
As i wrote before, all the acting choices were expected, but mostly insincere.
It just......moved.....for the sake of moving.......and too often badly.

Again, Facilier only kept me from turning it off.

I just watched this last night, and every moment of it was painful. It's like they made a checklist of everything a disney princess film should have, but they forgot good storytelling, characters we give a shit about, and songs that don't suck and further the story. I was expecting something dull and derivative but what I got was something so much worse. I loathe this movie. I like the moral though: you can accomplish your dreams, but only with hard work, a husband, and an alligator friend.

This film had several gross moments, but Charlotte's last line was the worst.

I fucking hate this film so much.

SPOILER: no, the lightning bug dies. thank you, dr facilier!

That lightning bug. That fucking lightning bug. Jim Cummings, I mean who's not a fan of Jim Cummings? But he's capable of great feats of annoyingness, and this was certainly his most annoying role ever. The filmmakers put that character in the movie only because they hate their audience and wanted to inflict suffering on them. Thanks guys! It worked! I was begging my boyfriend to smother me with a pillow.

Which reminds me; my boyfriend is neither an artist nor a fan of animation and even he noticed that none of the characters looked like they came from the same film. Disney had that problem before in Treasure Planet but I think they surpassed that one here.

Jesus I just cannot express my utter loathing for this pile of shit.

I saw it tonight and I couldn't agree more.
It was like a fat Pink/green/orange cake full of cholesterol.

All along I had the feeling that nearly all the characters (in term of design or acting)
seamed to be a patchwork of some done before in another Disney movie or else
(for example, the fat Frog Hunter was an unlucky Chuck Jones' mobster adaptation
or kid Charlotte a Darla Dimple like from "cat's don't dance" ).
I only Liked the voodoo guy Facilier and the firefly design. One gag made me laugh
(the frog dude cutting the mushroom but it was a gag for Kusko).

All I remember of that indigestible. experience was
bla bla bla bla sing sing sing sing (loop).

please let me spoil you so you can prepare handkerchief:

The pick of the climax is ... the death of a bug ... cut to ... the bug's funerals ...
WTF is that !!???

Yes, Charlotte looked, either kid or adult, like the hysterical girl from CCDD. And the croc is a recycled Don Bluth character. Facilier didn't convince me either (he was basically Jafar in NewO) but the shadows were fun.
