Photoshop path question.

Postby Shawn Swain » Fri Dec 11, 2009 6:00 pm

I created a logo (text only) in Illustrator and then added it to the book cover file I'm working on, but the website that I will upload the file to requires all text to be a path, How do I achieve this in PS, or by rasterizing it in PS am I good to go?

you can make the text a path in AI. just right click on it and hit create outlines. boom. then you should be able to import that into photoshop.

Drag a copy of your text/logo in AI and convert to outlines if necessary. Copy and paste into your PS file as "shape layer". This will keep your text as paths with a user-defined fill (defaults to your foreground color).

I think what they're asking for though, is that you convert fonts to outlines so they don't wind up with "missing fonts" when they open the file. You should be ok with the way you're doing it now.

If you're creating text in PS (not advised), save a copy file and choose Layer>Rasterize>Type.
