Considering how much is being changed, I wouldn't want them to put it out as free content patches. It's insulting to the quality and amount of work they did.

I do think that it might be better served if it was an expansion instead of another full-priced game, if there's roughly the same amount of content as before.

Expansions usually have less content than before, though. If there's similar or (more likely) MORE content than the previous game, a sequel makes more sense.

People are just bitching because it's a quick turnaround for Valve, and because they really like to bitch.

You've got a point. Honestly, as long as the sequel also has the old campaigns (from what it sounds like, I think it might,) there's no complaints here. It'll be equally great if they don't have re-release an SDK for it, and folks can just use the SDK released for L4D to generate new levels...I'm still looking forward to the mall level somebody is cooking up.

Besides, we still have plenty of time, if we follow Valve's habit of development cycles...

So I guess we'll actually see it in about a year or so? :D

No, it's pretty much set for release this year.

I think the Team Fortress 2 updates (which ruined the game) just spoiled people on free content development.

Playing the Demo, pretty great!

enough new content to keep it interesting, some challenging new zombie classes, and i especially enjoy diving into the horde with a melee weapon!

That machete is something awesome.

Also, they've put a cool-down on the gun shove! I was VERY surprised when that happened, though considering how easily you could spam melee attacks during a horde rush in the first game, it's understandable.

Having the witch wander around too is interesting...It can make it easier/harder to maneuver around her, depending on how stupid your teammates are (when I did my first playthrough, a bot just nonchalantly bumped into her...then promptly got eviscerated. We left him.)

I also like the idea of the never-ending crescendo events...I think that was probably the most fun I had during the demo...

Bangalore, did you discover the secret of the jukebox yet?

and the day light kills my boner.

Love the new special zombies, and some of the weapon options.

Well, one of the songs is called "Re: Your Brains." At one point in the song, it triggers a horde attack. Incidentally, even if you turn it to that song and run like hell, whenever it reaches that part of the song, it'll activate a horde.

Was certainly a fun surprise when I turned it on, listened to the song, then saw the little cantina SWARMED with zombies.

it was quite entertaining to attack a horde with the guitar while the rockn'roll song was playing.

It was a fun demo, feels more intense than the first game since there are so many unique zombies to worry about.

Game's awesome. I like it a lot more than the first, and I liked the first a lot.

I love it. Playing as Infected made me laugh so hard my side hurt.

But I did have my first run in with a TK asshole Saturday. I was trying to get all the gas cans to fill up the stock car online and no one would stick together except me. I lost count how many times I had to start over but eventually I started a round with all AI partners. I managed to fill the car with 11 of the 13 gas cans and I had just thrown the last two down to the car when Cunt-for-brains joins in and decides to shoot me then refuses to help me up or finish the level. I can't remember the last time I was so pissed.

You would think they could come up with a method of dealing with team killers. It should be obvious when someone is intentionally trying to kill you from your own team as opposed to random accidental friendly fire. They should have the game restore your health and reduce his instead.

Its a great game, definitely an improvement over the first one. Scavenge mode I like simply because its quicker than normal versus mode. The teamwork is a strong factor in how you and other players will progress, so I'm making friends with people who care about that so I don't have to worry about getting into a bad group too often.

On the pc...steam patches this thing ...so much it hurts.

The first is still enjoyable and works fine. I usually walk away from the second game angry and frustrated. I do enjoy the addition of melee weapons since they made the gun melee weak. The new infected just pile on top of the old infected and if you're not in the immediate area of the other survivors you will die. And i do mean standing next to them...like..right next them. Anyway, i look forward to any new additions to make the Passing make more sense.
