My version of Parker

Postby de aap » Sun Jul 19, 2009 1:18 am

Hey guys, as some of you might know The Hunter, the first Parker graphic novel by Darwin Cooke, is to be released this week. Over on the Darwin Cooke blog there was this great contest to draw your own version of Parker.

This is my submission. It took me some time to get it right but I'm pretty pleased with the result. The winners will be chosen later this week, I really hope i'm one of th lucky ones. (The reward is a signed copy of The Hunter)

I have uloaded some of the sketches too. You can see more sketches on my blog: http://aapstra.blogspot.com

Please let me know what you think!

This is pretty cool, I like the colouring and Parker is great. I would say though the girl doesn't stand up to the rest of the image, shes flat and maybe even a bit boring.

Good job though

Hey Lee, thanks for the reaction. You're right about the girl being a bit flat, though I don't think of her as boring. I am pretty glad with the linework on the girl but it 's still hard for me to draw sexy girls with personality. But I have to admit it's getting better...

This is a piece of fan-art I did. I don't know if you have seen the Yuki 7 book by Kevin Dart?
kevindart.com It is amazing. I did my best to make this look like a real old comic cover.

I'd love to hear your opinion!
