I see Johnathon Pryce is clearly going through the "Michael Cain/ will act in any old shit" phase of his career.

Will this be re-titled "Action Force" for us here in Blighty ;)

The only good portion of the traielr was that the French had their tower destroyed. more than one person in the audiebce could be heard making a disparaging comment along the lines of "why destroy the tower, ask the French to surrender and they will".

However, this thread is not about making fun of the French ;) the trailer looks horrible and this movie will go the way of the The Spirit. A huge failure. (I hope)

Jim, have you ever even met a French person? There are a lot of them on this board, you might want to be aware of who you're talking to before you put your foot into your mouth...

talk about hollywood hating nerds. lol.

this is definitely falling on the side of a creator/team thinking they know better than the source what's "cool" about that property.

its almost unrecognizable as g.i.joe let alone something that resembles SIMPLE quality.

I know I'm dipping into super geek territory here, but seriously, the whole point was this diverse group of heroes all good at completely different things, filling gaps, suiting niches... but this movie puts everyone in the same outfit, and puts them in "power-suits" and completely levels the entire group.

I'm not gonna be dramatic as "raping my childhood" or anything stupid... its just sad, that's all.

i don't have anything invested in GI Joe and don't really give a shit...but what's the point? Why even call it GI Joe?

Regardless, this movie doesn't even look entertaining to me

they're calling it gi joe as an excuse to have snake eyes in the movie.

i get the feeling that the filmmakers don't give a shit about the other joes, and most kids who see this won't either.

Do kids these days even know what the heck GI Joe is? I can't remember the last time I actually heard ANYTHING about a GI Joe cartoon, save for the adult swim one.
I got myself a website now! http://www.artofandrewsides.com

Yeah, it was fun in that silly Stephen Sommers way, but it just wasn't as fun as I thought it would be. I think they should have let the characters be a little less serious than they were and more flamboyant like...

SPOILER

Who would eventually become Cobra Commander.

haha, half the cast of 'the Mummy" was in it. i don't know why that's funny...haha

seriously, this film teetered on the line between awful and fun the whole time, but leaned a little too far towards awful. every time i started to get into it, there would be some douche-chillingly bad one liner or cliche bit of action to pull me out of it.

I wanted to like it, even going in expecting an awful-tastic Stephen Sommers movie, i just couldn't get over how bad and totally uninspired it was( half of the shots in the third act were from 'Return of the Jedi')

moonman's right, if it had been a bit more aware of it's goofiness it would have been gold, but they played it too serious.
