Here's a couple of old scratchboard pieces I recently scanned in. Experimenting with lighting and textures...

By the way, I have a deviantART gallery now. A lot of these pieces and more are in it, if ya feel like checkin' it out.

This is Scott Morse'sMagic Pickle, from a graphic novel I just got. It's a great, fun read! Superheroic produce... ya gotta love it. This was really quick and easy to draw.

One of the comics I'm picking up every month right now is the Perhapanauts, by Todd Dezago and Craig Rousseau. It's about a group of paranormal adventurers that include a bigfoot, a ghost, a psychic, a mothman, an interdimensional guy, and THIS guy... Choopie (the chupacabra). It reads like a really light hearted Hellboy.

Had to add color to that last one. Hellboy just has to be red, you know?

This crazy creature came out of a sketch night with Dusty earlier this summer. Just havin' fun with a brush pen. Don't even try to make sense out of the words... inside joke.

Thanks!

Here is blues legend Robert Johnson, who supposedly sold his sold to the devil at the crossroads in exchange for his musical abilities. This was the first large watercolor painting I?ve done in a while, and I?m pretty happy with it. Some of the blending is a little rough, but I think that fits the feel I was trying to give it.

Whatcha think?

Hey, thanks!

This guy is one of our oldest characters, actually. You will see him again? but probably not in this form.

The idea with this lovable little zombie is that he just happened to be playing with a squirt gun when he? turned. Now he?s stuck mindlessly holding it? and without a hand to pump it up if he wanted to. How sad?

Inigo Montoya from the movie, The Princess Bride:

This is one of my all-time favorite movies. You can read some of my thoughts about it here, if interested.

I'm pretty happy with this image, but I think I could have made the pose much more dramatic. Any thoughts?

For some reason, a few weeks ago I started drawing Abe Lincoln quite a bit. He definitely had an interesting face. I?m not sure that I really captured him in any of these, but I enjoy the first and last the most.

Which one is your favorite?

One of the G-Men from that game:

This has to be one of my favorite video games to come out in the last several years. You can find out why here, if you want.

Anyone else play this game?
