Steve-O's Legion of Superheroes ABCs: 10/25 Dawnstar

This is the first image in a series of 26 I'm doing for my new art blog.
It was fun trying to mimic the look of an old comic book printing process... I'm not sure it was entirely successful, though.
I'm trying to focus on more obscure or C-list characters. Suggestions and crits welcome!

Thanks, Carnage!

I'm open to suggestions for future characters in the lineup. I'm considering Deadman and Metamorpho, but the rest is wide open.

Great job!

B is for Batroc!
That?s right! Batroc The Leaper, Captain America?s French kickboxer foe. He?s awesome. No, really! The guy?s just so happy to be in the big leagues, you have to cut him some slack for the hilarious costume and zee atrocious Fronch accent!

Seriously, though, I just love how goofy he looks.

I like both renditions, although Batroc's face being covered bothers me a bit.

But the retro treatment looks cool!

Thanks for the comments, guys.
Ven- I agree, but the pose was more dynamic with his arm up that high. I hated to hide his magnificent facial hair, myself.

New post!
It's Captain Carrot, leader of the famed Zoo Crew!
Image

In all his buck-toothed glory!

I've been itching to draw him for a long time now, though this entry was a toss-up between the two Captains? Captain Carrot and Dav Pilkey's Captain Underpants. I couldn't translate Cap'n U to my style without making him incredibly creepy... but maybe I'll post those sketches another time.

Just FYI, I'm still taking suggestions for the rest of the lineup!

Also, big ups to my man Jason Lewis for hooking me up with the old-school Marvel palette used by colorists in the pre-digital days. Thanks!

Glad you like it!

Hmm.. I've never even heard of E-Man, but after a cursory WIkipedia search, he seems pretty cool. I might go for it! Elektra's in the mix for E, but I'm thinking if a character has their own movie they're not quite obscure enough.
