Toonboom Animate

Anyone use Toonboom Animate? I am looking to an alternative to Flash. Also any impressions on the offering for the Pro version.

I tend to lean more on Flash as there are more freelancers out there with flash experience.

I don't know about Animate (too expensive for me), but i presume that it is a great piece of software, because i use Toon Boom Studio for some time now and i can say it is fantastic. Much, much better than Flash (from animation point of view of course - ActionScript still rules on the other hand). In my opinion, ToonBoom Studio is the best Flash-animation program (and for reasonable price too). Anyway, they have them all available as a trial versions, so try it your self.

I wish Toon Boom had photoshop features.

It almost feels like ms paint animation software.

The lip sync feature is not bad, You can also peg the camera along with your animation.

Zoom side to side etc..

The hardest thing for me to adapt to Toon Boom is the fact that is hard to work with others in a team, especially if they don't have the program. The same goes for any app, but most people have Flash and After Effects, which for me is why I still favor them.

I went through the tutorial and it has some interesting features, however I don't know if they are worth $1000.
