So tempted to lock this now just to preserve it.

Actually, we're not off topic at all. Everyone is talking about what Cameron's logo looks like
to them, and this is a thread about Watchmen, in which a character is Rorschach. See?
It all ties together so nicely.

I see the two broken legs of a shattered warrior as he crawls to the salvation of the god Ixion while the ogres of Hell continue to feed upon his valiant soul.

Or a ladies hair straightener.

Oh man, you know what's spooky? if you take that logo and turn it clockwise by 90 degrees, it looks just like the blood stain/clock hands on the smiley face!

OooooOOOOOoooooooo!

On a completely non hair care related note (for anyone who still gives a shit about this thread).

I had some time to kill while waiting for my wife a few weeks back, so popped into Barnes and Nobel to find something to read to pass the time.
Watchmen happened to be within an arms reach so I started reading it and after the nice store lady woke me up (I'd had a late one the night before) I bought it and have now read it.

Anyway, I liked it very much.
I am curious to know, for those who've seen the film - is everything condensed or do they throw stuff away?

This is of course the tricky part of any adaption, but especially complex in this book.

I've heard a great deal of complaint about a lack of the brain squid.
I can't imagine it's that big a deal.
It's barely seen in the book anyway.

I thought you had seen the film?

Anyway, pretty much all of the main story is in it. A lot of details that get told in the book via the prose and minor characters got cut.

The ending with the squid got changed. It actually works better within the narrative of the film because the character and the entire backstory of that part of the book got cut.

But most of the story about the main six superheroes is told, it just misses all the extra layers the make the book so rich. It's still a pretty deep superhero story in the film, but it's alot more straightforward and may get kinda dull because of it.
