Previews sucks!

Postby Captain Genius » Wed Feb 04, 2009 4:35 pm

On the front of the Marvel solicitation there is a pic for the new monthly Wolverine ongoing.
Like he needs to be in another book.

And it says "From the superstar creative team of Jason Aaron and Ron Garney."

Who the fuck is Jason Aaron?
I read comics.
I almost know what's going on.
Even with the small amount of knowledge I have pertaining to current creators you'd think I'd know who Jason Aaron is.
I mean if he's a superstar and all.

So, fuck that guy.

Then I'm flipping thru the DC section and they got some pics of action figures coming out.
And they have pics of a few Blue and Red Lanterns.
And 2 Black Lanterns.
One whom is blacked out so you won't have the secret ruined.
I mean that story doesn't even begin for another few months right.

Black Lantern Earth 2 Superman.

Fuck me, man.
Thanks for the spoiler alert assholes!
Year that's right.
No spoilers for you reading this either.

They fucking blacked out the image of the figure as to not spoil the shock, but fucking losted who it was right next to it!

Just like a few months ago when they offered pics of the Watchmen figures.
They had the unmasked Rorscach dolls face covered.
Which is fine.
But anyone with a damn IQ and an internet connection has known for a while who's playing him.

Dumbasses.
guh....

Two cool things though.
Marvel has Marcos Martin drawing a WW2 Captain America comic.
And Dan Bereton is drawing a Beta Ray Thor one shot.

So,Woooo!
And kiss my ass Previews.

PS.
If all these Black Lanterns are gonna be dead dc heroes.
Can I have a Black Lantern Jonah Hex please?

I am sorry to say that if you don't know who is Jason Aaron, then you have been out of the
loop (the comics scene, that is ;)) for at least 3 or 4 years ;)

Peace & Cheers,
Francesco

I just started picking it up again to see what's going on in comics.
Cause I can't afford them now that they are going up to 4 bucks.

Maybe you should be angry at whoever at the respective companies is submitting the solicitations to Previews? It's distribution catalogue, not a journalistic endeavor

None of the information in Previews is actually written by Diamond Comics staff, it's all submitted by the publishers and manufacturers

HA! SO you were kidding when you said you didn't know who Aaron is :P You funny guy ;)

If you want just to be informed on what's going on, then I guess Wizard magazine is better
than Previews: at least you get a little more info that just some credits and synopsis.
Not a great coverage of indie comics though...

No, I still don't know who Jason Aaron is.
I've seen his name in the Marvel solicitations, but I've never read anything he's written, nor do I know what comics he's done.

And I really don't care enough to look him up.

And Wizard is horrible.

He currently writes the Vertigo series 'SCALPED', one of the great crime comics of recent years. Easily up there with the Brubaker/Phillips 'Criminal' series.

He also written a bunch of Wolverine, Ghost Rider and Hellblazer issues, oh and a rather effective little war comic series called 'The Other Side' drawn by a certain Anglo/Canadian friend of ours.
