Los Campesinos!

Didn't see a thread or anything about this bunch.

I read about them in Pitchfork's year-end list just a few weeks ago, and tracked down their two albums they released in 2008 ("Hold On Now, Youngster..." and "We Are Beautiful, We Are Doomed") , and they're a blast to listen to. Fun, poppy punk-influenced indie rock with a great sense of humor, and one of the best song titles ever.

Okay, I give. Just listened to them. They're good. Apologies to your mom.

I know Pitchfork is a bunch of pompous horn-rimmed hipster jackasses, but their year end list always has some good albums in it.

Actually, I scour year-end lists from no-readership blogs to snooty music snobs looking for new music. I hadn't gotten around to Pitchfork this year, though.

If I'm looking for new indie rock, my two go-to lists are Pitchfork's top 50, and John Allison's top 20 at www.scarygoround.com that he does at the end of every year.
