You know, I'm just gonna say it: I HATE rumours on forums. I really hope this thread doesn't turn into yet another forum of "I heard this, I heard that...but I can't tell." which sends a bazillion titilated lurkers running to google up mis-information till the wee hours.

I'm not saying that to be down on you, Joel. You know I respect you.

That said, that ww DOES look weird.

JG did have an interview where he mentioned he was running behind on Final Crisis, so much that Doug Mahnke is stepping in for the final issue. As far as the image posted, it seems as if there have been a few lo-res files that have been posted on Newsarama. I would have to say that it's probably not the final image although I could be wrong.

What's wrong with it? The perspective of her arm? The face? The colors? It's a weirdish looking Wonder Woman; but it's also the cover to a Morrison book, so I don't see the problem. It goes well with the other covers.

I hate to say but I've always thought he was kinda a hack. Anybody ever see that Superman wizard cover he totally ripped from some famous wrestlers photo?

hahaha i googled "j.g. jones rumor" and all i got was tons of message board threads about people talking baout how horrible the rumor is and how fucked up the situation is....but the only references to said rumor are "somebodyu told me it and it's bad you don't even want to know"

....so i really have no idea if their even is a real rumor

I didn't really want to have to point it out, since I think to artists all of these things should be recognized immediatly, AND its just poor sportmasnship, but what the hay...

its a horribly muddy (I find alot of his work is though). WW has a mans face. Un-greek/Amazonian hair. and most of all... her gigantic fucking head would proportionally fit a body about twice the size of the one illustrated.

Those are major points, I could go on... but you guys get the picture.

It would be fun if there were a well illustrated version, and this was the one where you had to find all the differences/errors. lol.

Eh, it's stylized. It might not be pretty, but I still think it's a bold, intriguing image. To each his own.

The orange skin-tone and purple background are more vibrant on the actual copy.

I totally didn't mean to stir up drama or anything.

I was surprised to hear that J.G. Jones even made it as far as Issue 5, as I'd heard he hadn't made it that far and Doug Mahnke was finishing it off.

Maybe I shouldn't even have an opinion of Final Crisis, as it just reads a mess, and the art since #1 seemed rushed, much like Yu's Secret Invasion stuff.

These big crossovers are just product, and rushing these poor artists for "fast" cash just turns my stomach.
I LOVE superheroes and when I read these things, I have no idea what's going on or what's important....nothing feels permanent.

So, maybe I'm just a cranky, elitist grampa, but this crap isn't the future of mainstream comics.
It's a horrible cross-over grift.

No one can create art under these pressures.

Maybe I'm naive for feeling that comics can be art and product.
