strangers on a train

By repeter860 taken with canon ae-1, 400iso b&w film, printed from 2 negatives, scanned from a print with a little dusting. any comments are welcome, i know it's like pulling teeth especially in this forum. :)

I like the off center focus of the image, it suggests more of a story than the image would if the foreground figure were in focus. That said, I think if the foreground figure is going to be in focus, perhaps he should be cropped partially out of frame, so we aren't looking at a large fuzzy guy looking out the window. But still, on it's own, it does have a "just caught my eye quality, like someone scanning through the crowd and just happening upon this girl.

Yeah it's a nice pic. It would be more interesting for me if the background character was attracted to the out of focus foreground figure. The mechanical lines of the train itself are a nice framing device, but to me the two characters are unaware of each other. The eye is drawn in to the girl but I'm kind of wondering what she's doing there. It'd be great to add a bit more intrigue to the piece.
