Heroes Comicon in Charlotte

Postby chris pitzer » Wed May 21, 2008 12:34 pm

I did a quick scan and couldn't find a thread about this great show. If you haven't checked out this year's guests, you really should. It is CRAZY this year.

details:
June 20-22
Charlotte, NC

I've been going for years, and this show is one of the sweet ones.

We'll be debuting SUPERIOR SHOWCASE #3 at this year's show, and Josh (SKYSCRAPERS) Cotter will be there.

This year should be awsome...
Getting to hang out with Ronin and his Honey is always a pleasure.

Are we going to try to have a Drawingboard meetup!?!?!

Yeah, we too will be at Heroescon this year, over in Indie Island booth #833.

We're making the journey from distant Phoenix, AZ; we're excited to see what this con is all about.

See you there!

The Indie Spinner Rack guys have a podcast up where they talk with Dustin Harbin, the creative director of Heroes.

It's at the beginning of that episode, and will give you a feel for some of the things to do at teh show.

J Chris Campbell also has a countdown list:

I'll have a blog post up soon, too!

Hey everybody...

Dang gone it, I was so busy getting ready to get all of my material ready for the show that I actually forgot to go on my various forums and tell everybody I was going to be there.

Well, for those that were there, I was in Artist Alley way in the back and right across the walkway from Amanda Conners and Jimmy Palmiotti. If you got hungry during the con, maybe you walked by my Capes & Babes banner as I was close to the concession stand.

Heroes was my very first con EVER as an artist with a table. Actually, it was my first time ever being at Heroes as well. And maybe it was because I was a rookie but I had an absolute B-L-A-S-T! I made enough money the first day that I actually paid for my table on Friday, so the rest of the con was extra sweet (although Sunday was my slowest day).

Anyway, before I forget, does anyone here know how to get a hold of Tom Andress? He bought my very first convention sketch ever! It was a humorous cartoon of Poison Ivy in an ode to Brooke Shield's Jordache commercial saying "Nothing comes between me and MY ivy...". I thought I got his e-mail and contact info but apparently I was too excited and completely forgot about it. D'oh!

Did I hand out any of my Capes & babes postcards to any of you? The postcards were full color and had my main character, Marc, wearing a Wonder Woman t-shirt and saying that it was the last clean shirt he could find. They seemed to be a big hit as there were none left on the freebie table on Sunday.

Haha, if you were, then I remember you Rob!
IT was really funny. I'm convinced Alberto was pretending to know who I was and I found it extremely funny and charming!
