Looking for visual artists (UNPAID)

Hello visual artists of all calibers and skills!

My name is Javier Lugo and I am currently involved with a group of writers looking to develop a new comic book line. These include a fantasy line, super heroes, sci-fi and horror. As such, we are in need of artists to help mold these ideas from words to images.

At this point of time we are interested in collecting names and areas of interests from artists who are willing and able to contribute drawings starting in February 2008 and forward. I would like to create a catalog of visual artists, their skills, art samples, areas of interest, experience if any, pay scale (or if you are willing to contribute without pay) and when are you available. At this time, the tasks needed would be designing characters, locations and props.

I will be the contact person regarding artists and will try to match up the writers with artists that can help in the development of these comic book ideas.

At this time we are looking for all levels of talent and at all pay scales. I?ll be honest and say that it?s much more likely that we will contact artists willing to draw without pay at this time and at this phase of development.

Once we move into further development of the stories, we will certainly entertain the idea of paying for sequential art, and would strongly consider other methods of compensation, such as ownership percentage, pay after publication, percentage of profits or trading services among writers and artists. This would be something to negotiate with the writer/owner at the right time.
