But the script for Juno just plain sucks. i did enjoy the movie, but the dialogue was really quite terrible

I will say that it was a great case of a really talented director and actress doing a fantastic job with terrible material

I liked it, even though it tried very hard to be very cool. It reminded me a bit of Reality Bites which had the same kind of too-cool, completely unrealistic dialogue but for some reason I couldn't stand that movie. I never even finished watching it. Also somewhat like Heathers, which I love. So, who knows...

I quite liked the dialog.
I just hated hearing that girl deliver it.

Also - I don't think it was trying to be cool.
I think it was desperate to be, in every way it could, an independenty film.
Although perhaps that's what you meant...

Eeeesh...I hated Little Miss Sunshine for this very reason. I haven't seen Juno yet but if it's that kind of film maybe I'll skip it.

I am especially fond of LMS, so perhaps you'll care more for Juno...

as I said earlier in this thread, I found Juno to be very similar to Little Miss Sunshine (though plotwise they couldn't be more different)

i enjoy both films at an emotional level, but find them both to be not very good and quite undeserving of the praise and affection they get
