A 12 inch Cintiq

Postby Denis » Thu Oct 25, 2007 9:51 am

Don't get me wrong, I love my 21 inch Cintiq, but this one would have been more than enough for me, and at a much more reasonnable price too. It must be nice to be able to draw with the tablet on your lap like that.

These things are only screens right? There's no computer built into these suckers?

a friend of mine has a tablet PC. It looks like a normal laptop but you can flip the screen over and it becomes essentially a cintque. It was really nice to draw on. I'll have to call him up and see what it was exactly.

that new wacom that Denis posted is very nice.

There's another Cintiq model coming up, it's a widescreen version:

Saw that yesterday. The bad news is, it's only available within the USA. :(

I bought the new portable Cintiq last week. I wrote a review of it on my blog here:

I've always wanted a cintiq but it was out of my price range really - not the 12wx has been released i GOT ONE! yay.

It is awesome... i've not tried the bigger cintiqs but i think if it was bigger it would be more uncomfortable to use. The best thing was the other night i put the laptop with the lid closed by the couch in front of the TV and had the cintiq with photoshop on my lap... it was really comfortable, and using the stand that pops out i could change my leg position from up on a cushion to flat on the floor while keeping the screen angled to me... i did this:

to send friends and clients (original res attached)

what i love about it compared to paper, is you dont need additional lighting or different tools,...or paper! :D you can work at night on the couch without disturbing your partner too much, and the control is uncomparable to a standard tablet for 'picking up lines' and cleaning up the pencils...

I would reccomed it to anyone. :)

Happy Xmas.
