New Gaming Site Needs Cartoonist (PAID)

Postby cwbuecheler » Wed Nov 28, 2007 9:07 am

UPDATE
This post has met with overwhelming results, both here and at conceptart.org -- well over sixty people have inquired about the job in just a few days. We're still in the process of narrowing things down, but at this point I need to close the position to further applicants, so that my bosses and I can make a choice from the ones who've already applied. Thanks to all who got in touch. I'll be back with more illustration work in the future!

Greets,

Several years ago, I built and launched GameSpy.com under the game name "shaithis" and am now working with a few gentlemen and ladies from the gaming industry to create a new gaming website. I can't talk much about the site details yet, but we're a real company with real funding, and we really want to hire a cartoonist to create approximately 50 avatars that our users will be able to select from to use as their icon for forum posts, comments, and the like.

This is a paid freelance gig. We'd like illustrations which are detailed enough that they'll look good at about 200x200, but simple enough that they'll still look great when reduced to 50x50. We're thinking of a budget of about $25-$30 per illustration ($1250+), but that's negotiable if you're really good. We're more concerned about quality than about saving a few bucks. Previous experience with this kind of work is a plus but not a requirement, but if you can't turn work around at a pretty rapid pace, this probably isn't the right gig for you. We have a fairly aggressive launch schedule in place for the new site.

Please contact me through this site via private message with a link to samples of your work. I will post in this thread when we've found someone we want to work with.

He Writes, He Draws, He... well, okay, he doesn't draw very well. But the writing's good.
