5 min Life Drawings

Postby System404 » Wed Oct 10, 2007 6:00 pm

On the advice of a friend I'm doing 5 minute life drawings about thrice a week. Unfortunately I don't have access to a real model (my wife got sick of posing :?) I'm just timing myself while I draw from online sources.
I want to try some quicker 2 min poses(if my wife is willing) I'll post those once I have them

Anyways critiques and comments always welcomed.

Wow, those are fantastic. Amazing fluidity and flow in your line, very effortless. Love how gestural they are. they have so much life. Powerful stuff.

Thanks a lot wesers! Well here's the final for the week, I'll be gone on vacation next week but plan on taking my sketchbook with me. I'm going back home to Puerto Rico and plan on sketching in the old city, hopefully I'll have something to post later.

Back from vacation, got a couple of new life drawings to show. Unfortunately my scanner isn't working so I ended up taking pictures. The first three I did the second night in PR, I didn't have a model so I scoured through my wife's cosmo magazine. The other ones I did in a park bench in Old San Juan

These were actually done in a life drawing session in the University of P.R.

System404, you have great continuity of line and form in all your drawings! These are great! I love how for each pose you try to find dynamic angles!

good stuff System404. I really like the linework.
I can't really afford the live models either. By the way, where do you go online for your resources?

Thanks everyone for the comments.
booter--as far as online reference, my main source is http://www.characterdesigns.com/ you can go into the photosets and there's plenty of pictures.

Here's some new work
each took about 35 minutes

Your line work crackles with so much energy. Love to see what you can do with a real life model.
