You should go back and look at the skeetches from page 1 of this thread and then look at your most recent sketches. You have come a long way in a relatively short time. You are going after this correctly. you have multiple pages of arm studies, you have face studies. All in all I am really impressed with the volume of sketches you produce. You are bound to only get better and bette. The mirror reverse thing is always surprising. Things you thought were tight look off. It really is one of the best ways to crit your own work.

keep it up!
Imagine I wrote something witty. It is just easier on all of us that way.

Thanks for the kudos.

I appreciate what you're saying and I have looked over my old stuff. I've gotten better but I don't think I've gotten all that far. I just learned the basics instead of drawing all willy nilly. Thanks a lot for the praise and I won't disappoint myself or the people helping me. I have some expectations for my work come next year but right now I'm just drawing and living. Thanks once again. Later.

Sketch dump

Postby Anubis523 » Wed Oct 10, 2007 6:26 pm

The first one is an inked version of the robot gladiator, the second are sketches from life and the third is something I did on the way back from work.

It's fun to break away and draw off the wall stuff sometimes and you can learn even from those if you pay attention. This is just me, and it may not make much sense, but make sure you pay attention to the flow and balance of things. I think you did a pretty good job of that with your on the way home from work sketches, it shouldn't be neglected in your fun stuff either, if for nothing else than to keep from fostering a tendency that can be distracting in the more serious pics. Keep up the good work! It'll pay off in the end. :D Oh, the inked head in the last pic is quite good too.

Thanks a lot. I've thought a lot about why I like to draw and yet I am disappointed when I don't improve, I feel that it's important to grow but balance is important isn't it? Thanks for letting me know your thought's. And by the way I'll get better so you guys won't have to shield your eyes from my crap drawings.

Hey long time no see

Postby Anubis523 » Thu Oct 25, 2007 7:08 am

Hey all, I've been working so I've not had so much time do any decent sketches but I finally got something. The first one is study/invention of armor. The next two were done on the train but I think the designs are pretty keen. Comments, crits, etc. are wanted and welcome.

These are my latest sketches worth posting. I've been busy but I've been drawing just not posting gotta remember to do that. Later and thanks for the help!
Here are the pics and the comments. Enjoy and feedback would be excellent as well.

I finished reading Ral Grado:Blue Dragon and got inspired here's a kage-tsukai I came up with
that's a bit more contemporary and less swords and sorcery.

Hi guys, it's been a while I've been working a lot and been doing some soul searching for a while I thought I was going to give up but I've decided to go at it. Sorry for standing anybody up who wanted to see new stuff. Thanks for your critiques they make me feel like I can become a real artist someday.

I guess I missed your last couple of posts. Ben 10 is a pretty neat cartoon. I don't follow it regularly, but on occasion I'll be TV surfing and catch an episode. I haven't considered drawing anything from it, but your stuff is pretty good. I like your re-draw of the fox creature better than the original. Glad you're back at it. Keep crankin' 'em out. Don't wait until your and old fart like me to put the effort into it. There's too much cool art to draw and fun to be had to wait. :D
