I'm the Art Director at Meez.com, a company making a fun make-your-own-3D-avatar site, at www.meez.com. I'm looking for some occasional help making images for our Meez: fun, stylized backgrounds that these characters will fit on. Final art is a mere 600x800 pixels, so these aren't huge time-consuming paintings at film-resolution we're talking about.
Most of the work is for backgrounds, but as you can see, occasionally there's some work adding characters into the scene too, in which case characters would have to fit our style and be on-model. This would be occasional piece work, jobs here and there as needed and schedule (yours and ours) allows. Here are some examples of our characters and scenes:
You're seeing characters on top of the backgrounds, but those aren't what you'd be doing: We paint the backgrounds and then superimpose our 3D characters on top of them. So ignore the 3D characters for now, and look at the backdrops behind them. That's what we're looking for people to help with.
If this is a style you can work in and are interested in some occasional contract work, let me know. I would ideally like to find individuals to develop an ongoing relationship with. I posted this here in the past and did find some help, but as it's not steady work, different people are sometimes unavailable based on ther personal schedules and other work, so I could use some more help!
Also, to get more of an idea of the style we are looking for, please visit www.meez.com, create an avatar and ?Gear Up? with some Clothing and Scenes. Those are the 3D characters and assets on the site, and the 2D artwork can be seen on the Scenes (backgrounds.)
