jasonbaroody - A great selection of Hellboys. I like to read the first two as a before and after; TheRonin - That splatter of blood red really draws the eye to the shocking event, and leads to the question "what happened next?"; Ultraist - Great "dont mess with me again" attitude; steve-O - That's a fantastic design. I'd wear it; Petersen - Quality work, sir; Tisnaderas! - Some nice action going on there, and who doesn't love cyborg gorillas? RansomGetty - Moody and magnificent; Thaddeous - :D At last, the truth can be told! christian ward - Great style and awesome colours; miridi - I like the second one best of your group. The pencil shading gives an really nice atmosphere

I don't know why, but Hellboy threads always make me drop what I'm doing and draw him. I love seeing the different interpretations by everyone, so here's mine :)

Hellboy

Postby forvrin » Fri Feb 02, 2007 8:48 pm

gosh, it always gets a bit intimidating around here.

So, I promised (5 minutes ago) that I'd post more, and as a way of jumping the gun, I'll post this. I actually did this when the Jam first started, but like most of what I do, it sits in the old sketchbook.

I need to ink more sketches, as it is a skill I need to develop. Oh, and I should also remember that Hellboy has a tail. :P

pg1
Jarhead1 The plane breaks, the stance, the expression, and the compo are definitely working together.
em The mood with the shadows are killer. Love those horns.
jasonbaroody Like the style, man. The only thing is his hand with the gun gets kinda lost, but still ubber kool overall. The other 2 are sweet homages to Mike and the character.
Francesco You either need to be doing this comicbook or one just like it. Your compo and style are perfection for this genre.
Ultraist that's just a kool doodle.
steve-O Very graphic, love it.
Petersen Now that's just 3 sweet images.
RansomGetty You will be inking this right!? Beautiful.
christian ward Great technique.
miridi The last one is my fav.

pg2
The Armando Nice work.
Zatransis diggin your style.
dam That's nice.

pg3
callthysaint Not bad, not bad. I definitely feel these one.
em great job. You hit the likeness of the movie version right on. I do like the hinting of white light in places.
Joe nice colors and as always great job.

Some fantastic HB's in this jam. Hey, I own that third one by Petersen, love it.

He're mine, all oldies, but hey, I'm lazy.

some really great interpretations here, I always have a hard time not doing too Mignolia when I draw hellboy. I may do another one in a different style if I have the time.
