they look great

did you either forget to mention a blue hue in your palette as well? this isn't a stab or accusation, i'm genuinely curious as I can't figure how you would get that background and underpainting colors from those 4 pigments and if you can I want to learn.

These are great. Not to be a dork but how long did these take roughly?

No blue for you!

Postby hula » Thu Oct 05, 2006 12:53 pm

No I didn't forget the blue, but don't be confused...yeah there was blue used in the background of the last one I posted, but most of them don't have any.
These paintings take about an hour to do....sometimes a little more, sometimes a little less, who knows why!

I'm happy too....

Postby hula » Fri Oct 06, 2006 1:29 pm

I keep thinking about humbleego's comment that these make him feel "happy inside" I think that is the same thing that I get out of them. They're all things that I like for one reason or anotherImage

Quickie painting set up

Postby hula » Wed Oct 11, 2006 1:12 pm

Just in case you were wondering...here is my simple gear.
I want everything about these to be as simple as possible, towards that end, I use one brush, just a few colors and keep them in a plastic tackle box so I don't have to set anything up when I feel like painting...I flip it open and I'm ready to go!

Most of these quick paintings use magazine photos as some kind of reference, but this is from a photo I took of a friend of mine....looks like her too!
