Did this in pencil and did some manipulating and airbrushing after I scanned it.

My take on the sitting pose.

Not really interested in capturing a "likeness", so I left the face off. :P

Dont leave the face out!!! Even if it doesnt have a likeness you should still do the face, thats the only way you will get better. Art is about taking risks, if you never take risks, you'll never know what you might achieve. Downfall is a better teacher than success.

Been a long time since I've posted here, not that I haven't been checking out the phenominal artwork here on a regular basis.

Image

kayatwork: very lush feel to the fabric, like the way you handled it.
sirspamdalot: Both are cool. I'm liking the first archer pic better than the second, but then I'm a sucker for black and white.
ocngrl: I like the way you handled her dress, very delicate touch there.
sketchaholic: I'd thought about turning her into a fairy as well. I like your interpretation: very simple, very pretty -- wish you'd colour it.
walrus: Love the face, specially those eyes!
cal: That second pic is just cool, love it.
wiseachoo: I agree with PencilSam, include the face even if you're not going for a likeness.

I have to say that every single picture here inspires me in one way or another, thanks everyone for the inspiration! You guys rock.

Some really awesome stuff in here.

Favourites so far are Sarah Mensinga - Sir Spamdalot's 1st King Arthur - Walrus she's just gorgeous! - Maverikanim, Whoah!! That's superb! - Godofredox, gotta love those proportions. - em... Gorgeous as always.

Here's a first time Drawing Jam contribution from me. Still in the very early phase, but something about that photo said Wonder Woman to me. Had to check it out.

/ Jakob

Edit: Update with the inks. There are some things that need to be tweaked, but I think I'm getting there. And yes, she's be in color when I'm done. Having a hard time to decide if I should black out her hair or not though. Any ideas?

Since I guess that it is okay to be inspired by the pose and not try for a likeness--here's what came to my mind.

Not happy with right arm, but the ref photo right arm is coming out her head in a strange way too. Inked this with the Wacom and I think a pen is much faster for me but undo benefits are pretty cool.

jakob, leave the hiar blank and color it. maybeink some shadows, but no the whole thing. Also: I like the lips better in the first one. that subtle smile is captures the charms of the drawing. bring it back, Sir.

Still trying to figure out this photoshop thing. I've spent more than 8 hours on this now  could really need some tips on the hair. I?m not much of a painter and hair has always troubled me. :D
