I don't have a scanner yet, so this didn't come out exactly like the original. But I think it still looks okay....

Great pics so far, everyone!

Artichokie - hello and wecome to the jam! No reason you have to make it look like Shakira at all, it's there as reference to use however you see fit. I like your pic, it's got a nice style to it, large-eyes without being anime, kind of temperred by a very art deco / Mucha feel. Only part that could use some work, for me, is the screen-right foot: The foot and the ankle don't really show a lot of tension and are feeling a tad rubbery.

em - really nice image. I'm in love with the subtle passages like her left hand and left shoulder - really feels like bone and tendons under there.

owen freeman - even with the radical palette departure and cropping, it captures her well. Really great energy in that shot.

Kieth1 - great pencils and tones! And a wicked face too!

Anyhow, here's mine. The palette in this photo was too lovely to change much.

(something weird is going on with my web site, so I'm linking to cgtalk where i also posted this image)

I'm glad I've finally finished this piece. I've gotten tired of staring at Shakira and her unorthodox choice of pants. Somehow her head ended a touch too large and the body too skinny but I'm pretty pleased otherwise.

I had a more cartoony version in the works, but I decided it needed a digital re-inking. The way that's going, I predict it'll be ready in another three years. :P

Edit: Moving attachments to links to free up space.

Thank you! Yeah I hate that foot >_> It's ug. I'll work on it. I wish I could see your pic but it's a broken file for me. :( I really like your stuff so hopefully it'll show up sooner or later.

Funny I never noticed before but Shakira is kind of an oddly shaped person.
