Don Bachardy

He's the guy that painted Angelina Jolie nude.

he's not bad, and this last picture has nice colors, but is it wrong for me to say what the fuck is up with these celebrity artists being totally overrated?

no.

it's definitely not wrong to express your opinion.
I think he has some nice stuff as well.

most of it is timing and who you know. I remember a few years back there was this
5 year old girl that was being touted as the "Pint-sized Picasso" alot of celebrities bought into the fad- and commisioned works from her as well.

At least this guy has some skill with the brush.

you can see more color work here

His color work is growing on me, I'll admit.

But searching for more of his work, you see the pencil stuff.

there's no denying the ability (which is a very rare and good thing), but the pencil stuff is just missing that something.

If that's wrong, I'm wrong too. I think that there are some art stuff that become famous with no intrinsic reason, but more by being directly or indirectly associated with someone that already is famous or influent, and then the fame is somewhat inherited, or "given". It's like becoming exceptional art by decree.
