This is shaping up to be the biggest and best monthly Jam yet - only at the beginning of Day 4 and (with this post) already onto page 6 . Can it beat the record of 30 pages by the almost legendary "Green" Jam? Only time will tell.

Thanks to Tucker for his comments on mine

rrdejesus - Not quite sure what to make of yours, it's so abstract. It did bring to mind the scene in Superman 2 where he enters the chamber in the Fortress of Solitude and loses his powers; O'Haire - Superb portrait of Tom Welling; Ostrich_iNDUSTRIES - Great bright and cheery take on the Man of Steel. I'd like to see an animated show in this style, featuring the kind of goofy 1950s type adventures; Patrick77 - I know what you mean about Superman being tricky to draw, because he's such an icon, but you've done a splendid job, and should be very proud; tadem - Now that's just wonderful, Ed. One of the best Supergirls I've seen; Tucker - His name's actually "Non", but he's instantly recognisable, and you've depicted his stand-out character moment. I look forward to your takes on Ursa and Zod.

Tadem, Jakob, Marcelo - awesome, awesome Supergirls. They are all so lovely, with such a sense of vulnerability as well as strength - and all with such beautiful linework. Tadem - that one especially a fantastic and expressive sense of vulnerability to it. Bravo. What is the medium there? For the shading?

Tucker - nice go at Non, and I wanted to say thanks for taking the time to comment on everyone's posts. It's really appreciated, makes one feel good (especially with all of the stupendous talents on this board) because (at least to me) it is easy to feel like your own work is lost in the glare of the other shining talents here.

Everyone, Bravo.

Another one, tried for a more realistic look this time. Superman as he might have looked, first stepping onto the stage in the 30's or 40's. And yes, I still can't figure out how to upload or make my linked image smaller.

Talk about starting off with a bang! Yeah, this looks to be a big month...it'll pull lurkers like me out into the open and become more involved on this board. I love what we've seen so far...so many different takes on the Man of Steel! Keep up the great work everyone!

Marcelo Di Chiara - I was hoping you'd grace us with one of your lovely (and lively) ladies. Absolutely gorgeous Supergirl; Global Nihilism - The pose and style of yours made me think of a stained glass window in a church, which is appropriate, I suppose, because Superman is partly a Christ metaphor; keith1 - Top notch retro vibe. He's got a "looking to the future" feel suited to the 30s/40s period (by the way, there shouldn't be apostrophes in 30s and 40s, it just a plural - sorry to mention it, but it's one of my pet hates). The ribbing round the neckline is a very authentic touch too; Barry - Hey, long time no see, and quite a departure in style. I love how the design of the main shape of the body is similar to the "S" shield shape.

Something that I thought up in a corner of my sordid mind. Kal-El, Bizzaro, Ultraman and Lex having a drunken night out!

Great stuff, all! I can;t wait to see the rest of the month.

Here's an odd experiment- I wanted it to look like a young Brando doing the "poor Yorick" bit withthe Braniac skull. Instead it looks more like a bored Harrison Ford. And I couldn't get the skull to read well at that angle at all. (I glanced at photo reference of Brando, but got away from it pretty quick).

Ah well, back to the drawing board...
