Thanx Musashi!

Bnoberini: Wicked brush-pen sketch! The paper-pad lines add to that "I'm slackin' from work" vibe! Gotta luv it!

All the stuff posted so far has been great! I also love that Ultra the Multi-Alien -- I would soooo buy that book now if I saw that cover...

Bee-Man vs. Jigsaw

Postby wignke » Tue Feb 21, 2006 11:11 am

some comments first:
bnoberini Great energy, Just wish it wasn't on lined paper.
chobot3000 Man that is awesome. I love the perspective and as usual your inking is top notch.
marcelo Your Orion, Space Ghost and Gravity Girl are all fantastic.
Hack You know I can't get enough of the Doctor Who. I defenitly think someone needs to put you in charge of a comic for the new series.
spacesick I'm not familiar with the character but that sketch is terrific!
steve-o Great Nexus. Is that comic any good? I've always been a little curious.
porcelin I'm not sure what I can add that hasn't been said, except MORE!!
angry beef Keep them space ladies coming!
zombotomy I'm digging your J'onn
toonimator Nobody draws those ewoks as well as you do.
em... I'm not sure if I've ever thanked you for hosting these jams. They are great fun and your entries are aways great.

I know I didn't get everybody yet, and I apologize. You guys who comment on everybody are amazing.

Okay here's two old heros from Harvey. Bee-Man was stung by intergalactic giant bees and Jigsaw was put back together incorrectly by alien scientists when he crashed on their planet. I'm not entirely pleased with this but if I get a chance I'll throw some color on it.

Thanks Chobot3000 and Wignke for the compliments. I probably should have cleaned it up in Photoshop, but I am too lazy.
Wignke, that's a fun drawing. Great obscure character choices!
Cyrano_One, I like the Galactus without the drool.

Great drawings one and all, I wish I could compliment you all individually, but...well, laziness wins out over compliments. I really am impressed by the high quality of art on this board. :)

I'm not too happy about how this turned out due to my lack of inking skills. The only reason i did so was to cover up the erased pencil lines which in hindsight seemed to have ruined the lines I made, but I wanted to post so here is the mighty Thanos

Euan, two fantastic choices to start off this jam!!
There are so many great submissions to this topic, that I a bit like a pretender submitting this drawing I scribbled out at work. Forgive the low quality, it was whipped out on a sticky pad using a nearly dead brush pen. The picture is of Johnny Raygun from Jetpack Press.

Bob

Well well, look who decided to grace us with his presence! Bob Movereemi!

Welcome to the board Bob. See you at the meeting tonight. Nice Johnny Raygun.

I have been somewhat lax in my commenting this month so there's a lot to catch up on.

Rather than each individual post, I'll comment by person, in the order that they first appeared (since my previous last comment)

Joe Bun - a groovy rendition of Allred's RR7; steve-O - The reworking of your Nexus works well, and the Cosmic Spiderman was just plain wierd (in a good way); porcelain - Fantastic portraits of the Red Dwarf crew (the Duane Dibbley being my favourite); ANGRY BEEF! - You've been very prolific this month, with a lot of great portraits of space girls. I think my favourite was the animated version of Starfire; shadoes - I remember seeing those before, in the Star Wars Jam; diddle - I love your Super Skrull vs Thor; drewng - For want of a better word, your Ben Grimm and Johnny Storm was, well, fantastic (although I'm not keen on the photo background); Marcelo Di Chiara - You've really outdone yourself this month, Marcelo, producing gem after gem. It's hard to pic a favourite, but probably Space Ghost (so cool) or Gravity Girl (so hot); IMForeman - The rendering of the Surfer, with the reflected light on his skin and the black spotting, is excellent. He really looks Silver; Unoriginal Bastard II - Great depiction of the creature from This Island Earth, a classic movie; Ritalin Smith - Very cool Kree Captain Marvel (love his sneaky expression and the big boots); Hack - An awesome bunch of illos, Robert, the Cybermen and the Dr Quatermass being tops in my opinion; Mr Imagination - Another of this month's top posters, with a great variety in terms of genre (cartoon, manga TV shows, comics) I think my favourite of yours this month was the Lion-O; AgentHelix - Your Darkseid totally kicks ass, Brad; mpsindustries - That Ultra is so cool and stylish; Jollyrodgers - Great name (Captain Mushface), great character; demetrius - I'm not familiar with Shuma Gorath, but I like the fluidity of you sketch a lot; chobot3000 - Beautifully Kirby-esque Orion; bnoberini - Great Johnny Raygun sketch; wignke - Not familiar with either Bee-man or Jigsaw, but they look like fun characters from your fantastic pic; Global Nihilism - Pity the photo's a bit blurry, because this Obi-Wan looks very cool; Cyrano_One - Great comedic take on Galactus (I like the one with the drool best); JRO - There are some proportion issues, with his right leg in particular, but your Thanos does look suitably mean; Kool - I'm really liking the contrast between the dark of Galactus and the light of Nova

I think that's everyone.

I had hoped to get a more finished version of this done, but didn't get the time, so here's a quick sketch of Galactus:
