I was worried it might not be worth even the 1 hour trip I took, but it was pretty good - as in all things, it depends on what you expect from it. I went in expecting crap and was actually pleased.

I went to the DC portfolio review (last night) and got some good feedback from one of the editors. I asked, what are you looking for in an artist? His answer, George Perez. He also said he was looking for 3 main things in an artist: reliability, great art and niceness. As long as you had 2 out of 3 you had a shot. So for artists wanting to work at DC, there's hope for just about everyone.

Joanna that is interesting. Curious about what was meant by niceness. Did he mean well mannered?

Well-mannered is part of it, but more like having a good attitude. He said, "If you're reliable, have great art and you're a JERK - you're still OK."

I know what he means - in any managerial-type job when you are working with on-time people with positive, friendly attitudes, it makes your job that much easier, even if their work quality is not that great. Or, if they are excellent workers but with bad attitudes, you can overlook the one for sake of the other. No one is perfect.

I just got back this mourning.I was surprised to see how small is was,but I talked to Alberto (Dr.Cyberfunken) and did an awesome sketch for me.Also met Cheeks and picked up his book. Those guys are supremely talented!I also crashed a sweet sixteen but I hardly remember anything but seeing drunk fights.Good times except for the drive up there, what am I saying I love the smell of cow shit in the mourning!
