While I agree that these characters may still have some life in them, maybe he's done with them and he's passing the torch onto someone else?

I just came back from the wake; it was a very tasteful affair.

His attorney, Martin Galloway, has confirmed to me that any rights and properties relating to the aforementioned characters will revert back to the studio. And as we all know, studio president Jerry Gibson has always been a champion of these particular characters, so I think it's safe to assume we could see a fully-made feature as early as fall 2009.
