Painter Essentials

Postby Carnage » Tue Jul 19, 2005 11:21 pm

Hey guys,

I recently bought a Tablet and it came with the program Painter Essentials. Neat Program.
But what I wanted to know was how do I set the layers so that I won't paint over the lines of my drawing?

I know how to do that in Photoshop six and I thought it might be the same, but when I setup a new layer, its doesn't give me the option to set it on "multiply"...

Any help would be great, Thanks.

If it allows you to (as it does in the full version of painter).

Set your lineart layer to Gel and have it as your TOP layer. Add a new layer below and start colouring, just like you do in photoshop.

As a sidenote, if you then save it as a photoshop compatable file, the lineart often seems to convert to a "darken" layer instead of multiply, which can easily be fixed by simply changing it to multiply.

Thanks, man! :D

I'm not sure if it's a "complete" version, but it is called Painter Essentials 2, so maybe not? I do plan on getting the most recent painter, as it looks more like the way Photoshop is set up...

Thanks again, man!
