Getting buff.

Postby Gobukan » Tue Feb 22, 2005 11:53 am

Yup, I've been hitting the life drawing gym pretty regular lately. Doing 5 sets of two minute reps, 2 or 3 fifteens and a couple twenties. Feelin' pretty good. Good workout. And no more sissy stuff like pilates or conte -- I'm going straight to inks, baby.

See you at the gym.

These are wicked Mr. Bone

I always did have soft spot for your straight to line work in your sketchbooks
over your more "polished" final work, even before you started going to the gym
and turned into an art jock and all
so its great to see these.

Lovely sensitive renderings there, J! Very nice..

But does this mean we'll have to stop makin' all those "90 lb. weakling" jokes, behind-yer-back, now?!
I certainly hope not! haha

Laterz.

Thanks guys. I'm on my way for another workout. I hope I don't break too much of a sweat. I just bought a new muscle shirt and I don't want it getting all mungie.

Will post results.

As goofy as you're being in this thread, please do NOT stop the workout metaphors. I've got "Let's Get Physical" on the mp3 player ready to be played for your next post.

haha, great drawings, great posts. I think that the third image and the face on the second are a bit overworked, but the rest is great.

Nice stuff J! I have some of my students who tend to 'saw or pick' at their drawings use markers too at times. It forces one to really think before you make the line.

Love to see some more.

Just for Ricky...I've been patient
I've been good
Trying to keep my hands on the table.
It's getting hard this holding back - you know what I mean.

Another night, another pulled muscle. I'm working out at a much smaller gym than I used to which made it necessary to draw smaller...which is why I started drawing in pen. Also I always draw straight with pen in my sketchbook because I just do. The end result usually looking like the very first black line drawing of the model as old man. And now here's some new stuff...

I'm glad Pitt came out with those coloured markers because they sure make my workout more fun. And colourful.

Thank again for comments guys.
best,
j.

geez, all your working out is making me tired. If I wake up ripped, I'll have you to thank.

Wonderful pen work J. The scond in this last bunch is a stand out. I just bought myself a mR Pitt and haven't felt comfortable with him yet.
