...FLIGHT 2....sneak peek....

Postby RodGuen » Fri Dec 17, 2004 12:25 am

Here are 3 b/w pages from my little story in "Flight2".
I know my inking is dull, and Em adviced me to keep it rough, but ,
after agreeing with him,i couldn't leave it "as is"....
The story will be 11 pages and i have 3 more to ink, before passing them
on to Aris, whom i trust will make it look better.
The guy coloured some of my girls on the phone, which you can see on my "soon to be under construction " site.
Blue Pillow followed my progress throughout and gave me some good advices,
and Kazu's enthousiasm convinced me to post ......

Here are some pages,as a sneak peek.

....and that's it for now.

YES!!! This is SUH-WEET Rodolphe. It really looks great, and I think you did a fantastic job on the inking, probably the best inking I've seen from you. Man, this has me excited now. No surprise that the storytelling flows VERY well. Your story was my most eagerly anticipated story of FLIGHT 2, now that I've had a peak, it has been solidified as such. Can't wait to see the final product.

As you would say...

YOUR fan,
John
(except you would say R, or Rodolphe but you get what I meant)

wow I love these pages. They're so full of life... the flow from one panel to another is perfect, the characters' expressions are dead on...
Magnifique, my friend, magnifique... ;)

Oh wow, that is SO fantastic!

I think these pages are set up brilliantly.
the 'camera' shots, the characters, the storytelling, it all looks super natural and convincing and most of all appealing.
The inking looks just right to me as well, spontanious looking action sequences like these shouldn't be inked too tight, it has an excellent flow the way it is now.

Can't wait to read the whole story, this sure left me hungry for more!

Excellent job!

This is just absolutely amazing...and honestly to pick one panel out of the pages I'd say that the vibration panel with the gent going down the hill is just incredible. You've pointed out a reaction we all know about rough rides, yet no one seems to draw. I bow down.

Great stuff! If you hadn't mentioned the inking, I wouldn't have given it a second thought, but since you did:
The line weights are creating a convincing sense of depth, the spotting of blacks in the first two pages is well balanced and "natural", and I love how flawlessly you create drama by adding heavier spots of black as the pages progress.

I could lavish more on you if you like, but I'm sure you get the point...you rock!
