Mastodon!!! chuggachuggahchugga

I dont remember seeing many gumby types on this board, but i whole heartedly recommend Mastodon to those who are after some seriously heavy stuff, but in a tuneful, melodic way.
Have been likened to Clutch, and yes the second album is based entirely around Moby Dick, but, goddmanit!! too many whiney bands bitching and moaning about their parents and girlfriends have put me in the mood for balls out metal!!

All hail the Mastodon.

speaking of which... did you hear MTV made them change their video in order to be played?
it's total crap, it's completely not offensive in the least.
you can check out the uncensored video here for iron tusk....

yeah, i sorta know those guys a bit.... my band used to play with them when they came through town all the time. we did a split picture disc 7" with em too.... they have the studio version of Thin Lizzy's "Emerald" on there... it kills. if you haven't heard it, find it.... i think it was also on the remission deluxe cd/dvd release as well.

saw them open up for FEAR FACTORY a couple weeks back and became and instant fan. LEVIATHAN is an amazing album. And now they're on the Jagermeister tour with Slayer and killswitch engage!!!

thank god! thought i was gonna be on me own with this one ;) .
atropa: i couldnt find the dvd/cd version of Remission so i missed it, and ill never find that 7 inch. unless youve got one lying around :D

drugs: that tour sounds mind bending!! they were supposed to be playing nottingham rock city over here with alabama thunderpussy but have mysteriously dissapeared from the date list. wierd.

remission is a stunning album, and ive only had chance to listen to leviathan a couple of times, but it sounds soooooooooooooo good.
