Celara- I really like your planar approach to the figure, it's simple but it works to give the figure good dimension much like Craban's expert contour hatching. Good job everybudy.

Thanks. It's one of those deals where it fell apart at the ink stage though. It was late, I was tired and I'm still using too thick markers. Maybe I'll redo it. It was a lot better in the pencils.

Tzen- i really like your bold use of line. I think the hands are great as well as the back. The face i think could probably use some work in that his nose looks just a little too small for his head/face. Feature placement also seems to be an issue in that eyes should be in the middle of the head, the bottom of the nose, between the eyes and chin and the bottom of the bottom lip, between, the bottom of the nose and the bottom of the chin. Also the top of the hair seems to be lying on the head rather than coming out of it in areas. the back and front of the hair as well as those little sweeps are great. Overall i think this has got a great sense of proportion and balance as well as style. I'd like to see it a little more finished. I know you're working with a webcam, but maybe try shading and/or inking it?

This was a nice change of pace and helped me out of a bit of a rut. Just a quick 5 min. sketch, trying to keep it loose and exaggerated.

A few comments:

Thorsten - lovely as always! I love the exaggeration and how you completely pushed old Arnie to suit your own purposes
walrus - I really like the forward thrust of the pelvis you've got in the left drawing -- it really helps sell the pose. Your right drawing has a real Ferrigno vibe to me. Dunno why. Very cool stuff!
leander - Very nice tones!! Really sweet.
_sammy - nice stuff. I really like the loose, sketchy feel to the lines!
smak - ha ha!
emceeONE - nice take on it. I like that sucked-in old man butt.
erekson101 - v. cool! Nice mass.
innisanimate - Really like this one, but especially the face.
bockman - the gap between the teeth does it!
corkbutt - Awesome! Great face.
Christopher K - love the angles and the beheaded head!

Hi, everyone. This is my very first post. Been lurking around the boards for a while. I figured i needed some practice drawing the male figure and coloring with photoshop and the jam really inspired me to finally pick up my pencil. Nice works from everyone, by the way.

Some really nice new additions and am pleasantly surprised that this thread is still going.

Pointblank27 - I was just reaquainting myself with your site the other day and thinking, man, he should do something for the drawing jam. So glad you did. Great shapes, curves and tension. I also love that face. The muscleman butt is cool too. I'm glad you liked my version, but the old man butt was totally an accident.

Christopher K - you already know I dig this Arnold. the pose seems a bit feminine, but that was maybe your intention? made me laugh anyway.

Point Blank- that piece is great- so much life.

Emcee- I guess the old school, Gil Kane loincloth gives him a feminized look. But that piece is so bad, I'm regretting posting it!
