Adrian Tomine's SCRAPBOOK

Anyone else a fan of OPTIC NERVE or Tomine in general?

This book is a fantastic collection of of all of his work he's done outside of Optic nerve including a ton of strips for different magazines, promotional illsutrations for bands, stores, magazines, and a sketchbook section with previously unpublished strips, life drawings, random sketches, and some beautiful water colour images. 200 pages in a really large format for 25 bucks. It's fantastic!

Yeah this books rules! a couple weeks ago he came to do a Q&A and a signing at my local Boarders and I just came with a couple issues to get signed. When I saw the book a had to whip out my wallet and snatch it up. It was great he also drew a little drawing for me in the book.

His work is so simple but he puts so much work in to each line.

I flipped through this book yesterday, and it made me feel like a phoney and a fraud and a poseur for even trying to do comics. Tomine's watercolors are gorgeous.

I think I like this stuff better than Optic Nerve.

Thanks. Never heard him before.
No real surprises, but it was a nice interview.
