Did this one for a client in very little time--and I managed to get a copy on my computer, so I can share anyway.

I don't post much art, so I thought I'd give it a go...might be the start of a trend.
We'll see....

Looks real good, Ken. I love that gawky hands, and the inking is really slick.

Best,
Kelly

P.S. Missed you at the Calgary Convention this year. Still with SCETCH?

Nope, SCETCH closed their doors August 6th last year, left all of us there out of work and a bunch of students without a place to hang their hat.

Two of the instructors rescued the Animation program, but at the Heinze Institute in Saskatoon. Sadly, my comic book program was a casualty of the closure and I was unable to come to agreement on teaching in the Animation program at Heinze.

It was all a..............shall we say, a fiasco.

There's on-going issues with the former management of SCETCH--as all the instructors were owed ( a LOT) money from the school year. Because of some boneheaded "judgement calls"/actions by a few people, some of the students STILL lack transcripts. Yep, its a mess.
I have my own theories as to what happened and why and its not complimentary towards certain parties.

I pulled up stakes and moved to the BC interior ( the Cariboo) and I'm now fielding work from Vancouver. I will likely be moving back to Vancouver--where I'm from originally, probably within the year as the work seems to be coming in steadily now.
The 5 hour commute from here to there is a killer.

I didn't want to say anything when I met you and your students last year, but I was part of SR's animation 'studio' in Saskatoon before I moved to Calgary. Although I met a lot of good people, we were all let down or outright lied to by the bosses. It really frosted me when he got his school off the ground because the Sheridan people had looked at OUR work to judge if SR was able to get his school going... although he had taught nothing to any of us.

Anyway, I'm much happier here. (Although a fair bit more cynical) I hope things are going well for you. I do miss Saskatoon, it's a lovely city.

Best,
Kelly
